In grad school two good friends lived 45 minutes away in Ann Arbor. Their couch became my second home as I would escape the "Cranbubble" and crash with them every couple of weeks. Ann Arbor is a really cool small city with a great college vibe. The Grange had the best burgers and cocktails. Yum. They now are living outside of DC and I am visiting them in their new house!!! So instead of a couch I am luxuriating in a 4 poster guest bed. And playing with their really fun and lively foster pup Theo. He loves to lick faces and give "love nips." (If you see me next and I am missing a nose or chin this is why)
This was a last minute trip, conceived of on Friday when I was told that the American Craft Council show was happening in Baltimore and that I should check it out. If working means heading out on a mini vacation to walk around looking at art/craft sign me up!!! And it is tax deductible. Better yet!
I started my adventure heading North. Recently I have been thinking a lot about silence and how I have been getting more comfortable with it. The first half of my drive was just that. The silence made me think of runs I used to take in college. It was just me and my feet pounding thinking through whatever was eating at me.
Eventually I began an audiobook that has sci/fi, romance, mystery, and crystal energy.. Adventure time has started. Time to begin to pick up passengers.
